Leisure Time Activities

Webster County and the surrounding area offer residents a variety of “things to do and see” in their leisure time. Following are just a few of the many options:

Brushy Creek State Park encompasses approximately 5,800 acres. This woodland and stream valley is the largest recreational area in Iowa.

Dolliver State Park is one of the most beautiful state parks in Iowa. This 572-acre park has deep ravines, 75 foot limestone walls, Indian mounds and a scenic overlook.

Kennedy Park is a favorite for boating, fishing and golfing. The park includes many picnic areas and a "children's forest".

There are also several golf courses and the area is a prime place for fishing and hunting.

OHV Park 

   Gypsum City Off-Highway Vehicle Park inFort Dodge is a new

   300 acre park,  envisioned to one day encompass some

   1,500 acres.  The park came about in a cooperative effort by

   government agencies and officials, state lawmakers, non-profit

   groups and four gypsum companies.  It includes 15 miles of trails,

   a motocross track and a practice track for younger kids. 

   The park is free, and the hours are from sunrise to sunset.  The

   Gypsum City Off-Highway Vehicle Park is located at 2390 Mill

                                                         Road, south of Fort Dodge just off U.S. Highway 20.

 

Blanden Memorial Art Museum located in Fort Dodgehas a world-class permanent collection and current exhibitions by local and internationally renowned artists.

Fort Dodge is a retail center for north central Iowa providing several options for shopping and dining.
